Project Overview
Anthony is a fictional client who manages a recipe website, who has built an audience from his “Recipe Review” blog posts where he re-creates recipes submitted by his visitors and reviews them. He wants to create an engaging landing page for his website while still standing out from the rest.
Research
My research showed that many popular recipe websites use repetitive card formats to display the recipes in a grid throughout the page. This allows for a simple an effective way to organize recipes and sort into different sections but it lacks visual distinction between the different sections which can be repetitive for the users.
Goal
The long-term goal of this landing page design is to create an engaging and stand out design while creating a clear call to action. I focused on creating different sections which all have distinct styles in order to allow the visitors of the website to visually distinguish the different sections.

Fonts
Playfair Display
Playfair Display is a serif font and used sparingly for the titles of the recipes to help the title stand out among the sans serif font and draw attention to the recipe titles through contrast.
Roboto Condensed
Roboto Condensed was used in the logo as well as the headings to balance out the ornate feeling of Playfair Display.
Mukta
A simple sans serif font that is used for all body paragraphs to help the content stand out.
Colours
For the colours, I chose to go with pistachio and chocolate as the main colours for a warm and sweet colour scheme. The natural colours give a warm and homely expression that can help Anthony connect with his online community.
Along with this I used greys and pale yellows in the overlays and backgrounds to create a neutral layer.
